Many NRIs want to stay close to where they lived their whole life, surrounded by familar surroundings, family and friends.

Another option is to find a retirement community where you're surrounded by other NRIs who are of a similar age so that you can while your retirement time involved with activities and friends.  We have some retirement communities and some nursing homes which cater to the NRI community.
